Oakley South Africa Release 2011 Lifestyle Eyewear Collection

Oakley South Africa today unveiled their latest eyewear collection to a flurry of VIP guests which included local celebrities, sponsored athletes, media and VIP’s at the luxurious Crystal Towers Hotel and Spa in Cape Town. Included in the latest release were the following key styles: Batwolf™, Fringe™, Oakley Remedy™, Jury™, Oakley Unfaithful™ and Plaintiff™.

Some exciting new technological developments in the new range include a ‘snag free’ nosepiece in the women’s sunglass ‘Oakley Remedy™’. This piece is an update from the style ‘DART™’ which was one of the company best sellers for over 3 years!

The collection once again will offer consumers the best sunglass lens. Oakley eyewear blends the unbeatable clarity and protection of High Definition Optics® (HDO®) with definitive Oakley fashion.

The Oakley Sport Performance collection also made an appearance with Oakley Custom, comprising styles such as Jawbone, with fun interchangeable components within the frame such as Icons, frames and nosepieces. For those wanting a little lesson in history a display feature going back to the first Eyeshade first released in 1982 until present day Oakley certainly re-instated the companies’ long history and entrenchment in sport.

Other key highlights from the collection include: Oakley Limited Edition Rugby eyewear, the range includes custom team colours, a branded microbag and lens inscription; Oakley HD Polarized, offering an unrivalled optically correct polarized lens; and from the Oakley prescription release for March “Deringer™” with a titanium twinshock hinge offering unparalled comfort and fit for the active eyewear-prescription wearer.

Roxy Louw, Oakley girl and FHM”s Sexiest Women, Lieschen Botes, ex-Wonderbra girl as well as Bjorn Steinbach, Cosmo’s sexiest Man for December formed part of the exclusive list of models. Craig de Sousa and Lady Lea were on decks. Liezl van der Westhuizen took time out of her hectic Ironman training schedule to join the party with Beau Dean. They were dressed to the nines in their black & white outfits, complete with Oakley logo features on their ‘lemon twist’ cans. Serious takers for the party theme ‘Black & White with an Oakley twist’.

Oakley ambassador and radio presenter Ryan O’Connor hosted the evening and VIP guests included Michael Mol, Justin Kemp, Schalk Burger, Bryan Habana, as well as Cape Town Oakley ambassador girls who include presenter Noluthando Meje and Thuli Zuma, the stylish and fabulous daughter of President Jacob Zuma.

Oakley could not have wished for a better summer’s evening. Guests enjoyed a wonderful evening on the pool deck against the distant backdrop of Table Mountain.
