On a 81 degree LA day was the finale of the Oakley Pro Am Series at the storied Eisenhower Course at Industry Hills Golf Club.
The 10th Annual Southern California Oakley Invitational was attended by over 100 PGA Professionals and nearly 50 amateurs from key golf retailers. The event literally sold out in a matter of hours.
The tournament started in the early morning hours with bloody Mary’s, coffee & baileys and Fuzzy…yes Fuzzy Zoeller was asked by Oakley sales rep to join in the festivities. Fuzzy greeted each player taking photos and signed autographs for each player.
Neuro Drinks, Corona, Fuzzy Zoeller Vodka, New Era and Payne Mason cigars were at several tee boxes displaying their brand and culture to the participants. Payne Mason Cigars flew in a Cuban roller to hand roll each player a cigar of their choice.
Play began with several pro’s vying for the title of champion and $5,000 purse but only one came out carding a 5 under 67 for PGA professional Chris Smeal of Stadium Golf Center in San Diego.
The low amateur was Jason Dai from Power Golf Studio firing an impressive 7 under 65 net. Thank you to everyone involved in making this the most successful SoCal Oakley Pro/Am to date.
