Soho Oakley Store Grand Opening
New York, July 14-17th, 2005 – Oakley’s long anticipated NYC Flagship store is open in SoHo, showcasing Oakley’ full Fall ’05 line. The events ran from Thursday through Sunday and displaying Oakley’s fashion, technology, art and music. Thursday night offered exclusive members of NYC to get a preview of the store and line up prior to the doors opening on Friday. Local media, retailers, and trendsetters melded with Oakley staff, athletes, and personalities. A demo of the Oakley/Motorola RAZRWIRE™ Bluetooth sunglass was all the talk combined with the integrated fixtures present inside the new Soho Oakley Store.
On Friday, the doors opened to the public, and immediately the intrigued shoppers entered looking for the latest gear. Penny art, the creative behind the “Community Snow Project” Connected Faces installation, was a huge hit.
DJ G. Brown spun all day, and was followed up by international DJ and Model, Sal Morale. The weekend culminated with the Debut of* Trouble*, Trevor Andrews NYC based band. They absolutely killed it for their first show, and are already gaining attention. Look for the follow up performance at the Toronto Oakley Store launch in early August, or check them out on otracks.com.
