Oakley and the Young Survival Coalition are at it again. Continuing their successful, four-year partnership, the two have come together once more for a great cause during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Oakley has created a small selection of pink and white versions of their newest sport performance sunglass; Radarlock. The glasses are designated for a select group of IRONMAN World Championship elite athletes and Oakley has pledged $100 to the YSC for every athlete who crosses the finish line in Kona wearing the pink and white editions.
On Day 2 of the Oakley World Pro Junior, the focus was turned toward the ladies. The winds came up and the swell had dropped, but the long right at Canggu was still running and rippable – though challenging with some chop on the face. Nonetheless, the women didn’t have any trouble demonstrating why they’re the top junior surfers in the world.
Sage Erickson is on a roll. After winning a 6-Star event in Oceanside, Calif. a month ago, the stunning 22-year-old from Ventura followed up that result with another win thousands of miles away on the coast of Spain over the weekend. In clean 3- to 4-foot waves at Playa de Pantin, Sage put her power turns to work, and as a result won the 6-Star Cabreiroa Pantin Classic Pro over Alizee Arnaud of France in dominating fashion, posting a score of 16.10 to Arnaud’s 9.83. When Sage made it back to the beach after the final, she put on her favorite teal Frogskins, and was chaired up the beach by her brother, Noah, and a friend – her arms raised in victory.
