The “One Life Crew” is set to hit you upside the head every Wednesday. Snowboarder Magazine’s formidable collection of beautiful rippers, lead by Oakley’s own Chanelle Sladics and friends, will be delivering webisodes every other week – called “One Life Wednesdays.” And you’ll be able to watch them right here on Oakley.com. The lively videos will bring you right into the “One Life” World: Competitions, film trips, the girls teaching people to ride powder and diving into the local cultures of destinations they shred. What’s more, the green-aware crew is always looking to find ways to leave a positive environmental footprint on everywhere they visit…an idea that will find its way into every webisode. The first episode features the gals in Bariloche, Argentina…starring Chanelle, of course. Check it!
You can make that deux more for Lindsey Vonn. Oakley’s Olympic Gold Medalist mashed her way to two solid wins at the Val D’Isere World Cup event in France – grabbing her first downhill win of the season then emerging victorious at the first super combined race of the year. The victories catapulted her to the top of the overall World Cup standings – setting off even more immense momentum.
Lindsey Vonn is kickin’ arse. She’s not only the most successful female American skier in history. She’s also the first skier, male or female, to ever be named an Associated Press Athlete of the Year. Lindsey accepted the honors this past weekend, taking 77 of 175 votes submitted by news organizations that make up the AP’s membership, more than double what any other challenging female athlete totaled in the tally announced Saturday.
