Mikaela Shiffrin hails from Vail, Colorado and is now a standout American alpine skier. She made a name for herself with a spectacular breakthrough in front of a home crowd, finishing eighth in just her second World Cup slalom start. Shiffrin began turning heads almost instantly when she finished in the top 15 of her first two NorAm Cup races. But the heads started spinning when she won a super combined in British Colombia two weeks later and transferred that momentum into a NorAm title and two World Cup starts as a first year J3. Oakley Women’s Wake Star continued her rampage through the Tour on her quest for another Queen of Wake Title, plowing through a talented field at PWT Stop Number Three in Colorado Spring, Colorado. As the raging winds died down and sunlight broke through, fans flocked to the shoreline to watch Amber and fellow Oakley riders throw down through multiple divisions.

    The Pro Wakeboard Tour hit Texas. And as expected, it was big. Case in point: Oakley Wake Team Star Amber Wing, whose 66.77 score topped fellow O Team Ripper Nicola Butler to take command of the Pro Women’s Queen of Wake point standings (290 points). “I thought Nicola had it; I was cheering for her,” Amber said, rocking her Oakley gear and eyewear. “But I did my run, stood up both my passes and came out on top. I’m really pumped to win this tour stop.” In the Pro Men’s Division, O’s young phenom Harley Clifford threw down as always amidst a talent-packed heat in the finals – including fellow Oakley rider and rail master Oli Derome. Harley’s 95.00 score after a killer run seemed to have seal the deal. But the former King of Wake Points Leader was edged by Phil Soven, whose 95.50 narrowly took the victory.
