Erica Hosseini

Women

Athleticism and beauty – a lethal combination. Erica Hosseini has both in spades. The self-proclaimed tomboy has graced magazine covers (in and out of the surf industry), been the focus of editorial features, fashion features and even appeared on “Access Hollywood.” With all of the modeling shoots she does for sponsors and editorial purposes, it’s surprising that the 5’10", blue-eyed, goofy-footed surfer/model can still find time to travel and compete (follow her adventures on ericahosseini.com). Break out the brooms. Because Oakley’s killer Wakeboard team just racked up another sweep…Nationals style. Our very own Aussie phenom Harley Clifford lead the way by claiming his second consecutive Wakeboard National Championship, edging out Phil Soven for the contest and overtaking him for the King of Wake Series lead. On the prettier side of the sport, O ripper Amber Wing managed to topple defending National Champ and fellow Oakley rider Nicola Butler for this year’s honor – and an even bigger advantage in the Queen of Wake standings. Oakley Japan’s Shota Tezuka – a bone fide talent in every respect – scooped up a commanding 81.67 score for the Division Championship.

Oakley’s World No. 1 Ranked Women’s Golfer Yani Tseng shot her way into the record books as the youngest professional golfer in history to claim five career major titles. The 22 year old successfully and boldly defended her Women’s British Open Title, passing Caroline Masson in the final round for the triumph. Trailing Masson by two strokes as the final day set in, Yani made her charge, birdying on the third hole to bring the two to a tie at 13-under-par. But she wasn’t done. Her birdie on the sixth gave Yani her commanding lead.

Amber wing is still on a roll. A big roll. Oakley’s Australian ripper extended her championship standings lead to 100 points after claiming victory at the Pro Wakeboard Tour Stop in Monroe, Wash. – displaying her continued dominance this season over a talent-packed field that includes the likes of fellow Oakley rider and defending Queen of Wake Nicola Butler. “I was super nervous about finals today,” Amber said, rocking her Oakley gear and eyewear. “I really want to be the overall winner, and as the season gets closer to the end, the more the pressure builds up.”
