In a highly competitive, back-and-forth battle at Mission Beach, San Diego, American Gwen Jorgensen took the title of 2013 Omegawave World Triathlon Series San Diego Champion. The Wisconsin native became the first ever American to win a World Triathlon Series event, beating out Britain’s Non Stanford and Australia’s Emma Moffat, who took second and third respectively.
