Canada’s Kim Lamarre has a genetic advantage when it comes to skiing – her grandmother represented Canada as a member of the women’s ski team at the 1956 Winter Olympics in Cortina, Italy. She learned to ski at the young age of three at Le Relais in Lac-Beauport, Quebec. Though she never tried competing in moguls or racing, she loved skiing with friends on the weekend.

Like any good Quebec ripper, Lamarre excels at rails (she hit her first rail at the age of 13), and like any Canadian, she’s a huge hockey fan.

She draws inspiration from the likes of Tanner Hall, JP Auclair and Charles Gagnier. Though she tore her left ACL at Winter X Games in 2009, she has proven that she’s fully recovered and ready to get back to dominating: she won the 2010 New Zealand Freeski Open and won a Bronze Medal at Euro X Games in 2011.

This season she will “compete in the major comps and squeeze in some time to film some urban.”
