Bio
Born in Lausanne and raised in Montreux, at the bottom of the Swiss Alps, Virginie hails from a family of skiers. Her parents strapped skis on her at the age of two and she hasn’t wanted to take them off since. Virginie spent ten years alpine racing, building a foundation that would transfer over to the park and pip. One trip to Whistler and she was sold on the freeski movement. Since then, she’s competed in eight Winter X Games and was the 2009 FIS World Champion for halfpipe. Freeskier Magazine touted her amplitude, style and technique in the pipe. She also excels in slopestyle and has won the European Open in Laax twice. Virginie is competing around the world as she gets closer to her goal of competing in the 2014 Winter Olympic Games in Sochi. Virginie satisfies her cravings for untracked powder by backcountry skiing. She also enjoys mountain biking, tennis, snowboarding, photography, literature, nature, friends and family.
