South By Southwest is always a party. And, just like every year, Oakley brought some of its uniquely cool magic to the sprawling scene in Austin (Texas). Collaborating with O Entertainment family member and Entourage Star, Adrian Grenier (and his ‘Wreckroom’ music project), the brand put on a rockin’ show at the W Hotel. Headlined by Grammy-nominated Oakley music artist, Skylar Grey, and featuring the likes of Grammy winner Sirah, Asher Roth and Indie music upstart Breakfast, the performance welcomed music industry influencers, celebrities and more for an intimate showcase away from the mud-packed streets.

Bringing a two-shot lead into the final round of the LPGA Kia Classic, Beatriz Recari most likely didn’t have eyes on winning the tournament in dramatic fashion. Slow and steady, banking on her impressive lead. That wasn’t the case however, as Recari finished Sunday’s round at Aviara in Carlsbad, California, tied for the lead with I.K. Kim. Both Recari and Kim three-putted the 18th hole to force a two-hole playoff. The two would repeat their performances on 18, during the first playoff hole, forcing another hole. That was when Recari sank an 18-foot birdie putt from the fringe to secure her second career LPGA title.

Back in 2010, after she’d had a stunning season – which included becoming the first female to land a 900 – then-wakeboard team manager Matty Swanson posed the question, “What’s next?” Amber Wing wanted to do a film project. That conversation was the genesis of “Sets In Motion,” a new, game-changing women’s wakeboard series. “Women in wakeboarding don’t get asked to film or aren’t included in any filming projects, and there’s maybe 3 or 4 guys ones every year, so I wanted to create a platform and a project for the girls that’s going to be timeless and online and for everyone to see forever,” explained Amber Wing, the reigning Queen of Wake who in January became the first female to land a double flip. “It gives the girls something to work towards, and not just be riding for contests, because its different riding for contests than free-riding. It was an idea, in a way, for me to push the girls and motivate them to progre...

Aksel Lund Svindal and Lindsey Vonn are no strangers to Audi FIS Alpine World Cup season titles, but 2012-2013 has been remarkable in its own right for these two. A few deciding, races late in the season, were to be held in Lezerheide, Switzerland on Wednesday, however the weather had other plans. After numerous delays, Wednesday’s scheduled events were canceled due to fog. While many would be disappointed with the result, this meant that both Svindal and Vonn would claim season titles, in multiple disciplines, based on final point standings. The Norwegian, Svindal claimed the downhill and Super G World Cup titles, bringing his career title count to an impressive nine. While Svindal’s story is remarkable in itself, it is Vonn’s season that is grabbing headlines across the globe. Just five short weeks after a devastating season-ending knee injury, Vonn still had enough season points to retain the overall downhill title. Vonn beat Slovenia’s Tina Maze by a single point.

The clock was ticking down on the Final of the Roxy Pro on the Gold Coast and she was up against the reigning runner-up on the elite ASP Women’s World Championship Tour – and yet, Tyler Wright didn’t flinch. In fact, she sat out in the lineup singing, seemingly unfazed even though the very early ratings lead and $15,000 were on the line. A wave came, Wright put her powerful style of surfing to practice, and a 9.2 resulted – and with that score, the win. “I don’t even know what to say right now,” said Wright, after being carried from the water to the podium. “I wasn’t even thinking out there. I was singing to myself and when I came in, my sister said ‘I was singing right along with you’. That little wave came in and hugged the bank and I just left it all on the wave. To get the score and the win like that, it’s incredible.”
