The Performance Ski and Surf Gravel Tour kicked off this past weekend in Orlando, Florida at The Orlando Watersports Complex. Despite some unusual Florida weather with very strong winds, riders gave it their best and threw down some amazing runs in the first stop of the season.

Amateur athletes from as far away as Japan, Norway, the Carolinas, Virginia, and the Northeast showed up to challenge central Florida’s top riders.

The Performance Gravel Tour is the nation’s leading amateur wakeboard series.  Oakley Grassroots team riders Taylor McCullough and Shota Tezuka both took 1st place in their divisions. Taylor winning the
Girls Division and Shota, a 16 year old wakeboard phenom from Tokyo,Japan winning the Outlaw Division. Even with the harsh weather conditions, Shota was able to lay down a solid run with lots of style
and going bigger than all the other competitors for the victory.

This is the first stop of the Gravel Tour. Riders will compete against each other throughout the rest of the season. This is a great event for our next generation of athletes. Stay tuned for more results on
the next Gravel Tour stop.
