The 2010 Surf Expo in Orlando got smacked with an O-branded wave this past week. The sprawling annual convention played host to the 2010 Transworld Wake Awards, where Oakley head-to-toe riders took home some major hardware for their super high-powered seasons. From the youngest team member (one of whom happens to arguably be the World’s best wakeboarder) to O Team Veterans, the Oakley brand clearly shined in every respect.
It was a clean sweep. Oakley’s Wakeboard Team wiped the floor with the competition this past weekend in Florida. Oakley’s Harvey Clifford emerged victorious with Air Nautique WWA Wakeboard National Championship Title on the men’s side and Nicola Butler took home the hardware in the Pro Women’s Division. Oakley teammate, the fabulous Amber Wing, also grabbed a solid second-place finish.
Oakley team rider Harley Clifford wins the third stop of the Pro Wakeboard Tour in Elizabethtown Kentucky. With a huge crowd and perfect conditions, Clifford’s amazing performance put himself in the number one position in the race for the King of Wake Series title. “I didn’t do so well at the last Tour stop, so I knew I needed to step up at this contest,” said Oakley’s Harley Clifford. “It was an intense final for sure, but I laid down my run and took the win. I’m stoked!”
