Oakley, VAS Announce Partnership
Oakley, Inc., a sport and lifestyle brand of Foothill Ranch, Calif., and VAS Entertainment of San Luis Obispo, California have partnered to release and distribute Push Process, Oakley’s first wakeboard film in their ongoing 1242 Productions action sports film series.
Push Process is the fourth film to be released from 1242 Productions. Prior films include the snowboard film The Community Project (2005), the surf film Separate Volume (2006) and the skate film Our Life (2006). The Push Process partnership with VAS marks the first direct collaborative distribution partnership Oakley has entered into that will involve both international DVD distribution, as well as digital and television distribution.
"The 1242 Productions series has been incredibly successful in helping Oakley connect with action sports movie fans and in branding our products across various sports categories,” said Oakley Sports Marketing Manager and Executive Producer Matty Swanson. “We are excited to have a partner in VAS who excels in distribution across all media delivery platforms".
Directed by acclaimed filmmaker Justin Stephens and shot exclusively in HD, Push Process exhibits some of the most progressive riding ever documented in the industry. The film takes viewers on quest from Australia to Minnesota, the Amazon to Canada, and beyond.
"Push Process has become more than a video project,” said long time wakeboard film maker Justin Stephens. “It has become a realization of what we can all accomplish together as a team, a crew, and a family. See what we saw, feel what we felt, then grab your people and go ride!”
The film highlights Oakley athletes Keith Lyman, Aaron Rathy, Andrew Adkison, Amber Wing, George Daniels, Danny Hampson, Dallas Friday, Jack Blodgett, and many more.
Equally excited is VAS Entertainment, the acknowledged industry leader in sports media distribution since 1988. "2007 has been an amazing year for VAS,” said Dan Strickland, Vice President of Studio. “We are excited to partner with Oakley and Justin Stephens to distribute Push Process. All of us believe this film will be the benchmark all other wakeboard films are measured against for years to come.”
Push Process premiered at Oakley’s Foothill Ranch World Headquarters November 10th, and is currently being premiered worldwide. The DVD will be in stores Mid-December. For more information and teasers, go to www.pushprocessmovie.com and www.oakley.com/pushprocess.
