PWT Stop 1 - Day 2: Fort Worth, TX
Oakley’s international riders dominate at the Pro Wakeboard Tour’s 1st stop in Fort Worth, Texas. Saturdays qualifying round was action packed and the Rolling O Lab was busy all day with media and Oakley fans learning more about HD Polarized lenses. The worlds best are trying to qualify for the Top 40 and an invite to the remaining 4 events and a chance for the King and Queen of Wake titles.
In the junior pro men’s division grass roots riders Daniel Powers won his heat and set himself up for a good seed in the semi-finals. The pro women’s qualifying went well as South Africa’s and reigning Queen of Wake’s own Nicola Butler won her heat with a perfect score of 100. Australia’s Amber Wing also had a solid qualifying run and will compete against the worlds best in the pro women’s finals. While the rookies and women’s team set the pace, Oakley’s men’s team was following in their tracks. Aaron Rathy scored a perfect run and the current Wakeboarding Magazine cover, which debuted at the Texas tour stop. Nick Davies from the United Kingdom, Harley Clifford from Australia, and Olivier Derome from Canada all qualified for the semi finals.
Over two thousand Texas locals were in awe of the O Lab and it’s 60-foot truck and trailer. Over 200 people toured through the O Lab and learned more about Oakley HD Polarized technology. The local Oakley sales rep is on site showcasing the latest sunglass releases. While working with account Texas MasterCraft who owns the lake and site for the tour stop, sold over 20 pairs of sunglasses.
