Amber Wing and Harley Clifford Take Home Hardware at Transworld Wake Awards

On a night that celebrates wakeboarding’s best, as has become tradition at the annual Transworld Wake Awards, Oakley riders were among the celebrated. Amber Wing was confirmed as the best on the lady’s side of the sport, while Harley Clifford was celebrated for his innovation in wakeboarding and Yan Lecomte the same in wakeskating.

“The biggest night in wakeboarding,” which is held in conjunction with the Surf Expo Tradeshow in Orlando, Fla., brings the wake industry to a single spot to celebrate the best of the year in several categories.

For the second consecutive year, and the fourth time overall, our own Amber Wing was announced as the Female Rider of the Year. Between a U.S. Championship, UK Championship and Australian Championship, along with countless other event wins in between, it’s no wonder why the 29-year-old Aussie is regularly regarded as one of the best in her profession.

“It is a big honor to win Transworld best female wakeboarder this year; there are so many girls stepping it up and riding so well,” Wing said. “I was shocked when they called my name and I am stoked to be seen as the leading lady in wakeboarding.”

Wakeboarding’s wunderkind, Harley Clifford continued to rack up the hardware just days before turning 19. Harley was awarded Wakeboard Trick of the Year for his Nose Grab Crow Mobe 900, which we could try to explain, or you could just watch it.

And to top off the achievements, Yan Lecomte won Wakeskate Trick of the Year with his Kickflip To Back Lip.

Congrats to all our winners and all our team riders for a fantastic season!
