Killer Start: Wakeboard Phenom Harley Clifford Victorious at Pro Wakeboard Tour Stop-Acworth, Nicola Butler Takes Women’s Pro Division
If Harley Clifford’s recent history making back-to-back, wake-to-wake 1080 in contest wasn’t an epic enough way to kick off a season, a resounding victory at the first Pro Tour Stop surely is. The defending King of Wake tantalized a packed crowd in Acworth, Ga. this past weekend, throwing down a near perfect final run lined with massive airs and super tech rail maneuvers to triumph in the land of peaches. Heavy charges and solid runs from the likes of Rusty Malinoski and Phil Soven kept the Finals closely contested. But Harley fended off every charge to hold on for the win – setting the stage for what will be an intense, envelope smashing battle to the end of the season.

Domination: Oakley’s Wake Team Racks Up Major Hardware at 2011 Transworld Wake Awards
It just keeps getting sicker every year. Oakley’s incredible team of Wake rippers reaffirmed their dominant presence in the industry at the 2011 Transworld Wake Awards in Orlando recently – racking up major honors and hardware after an all-time year of brilliance across the board. A typically vibrant celebration at the Surf Expo trade show, the Awards, laced with Oakley branding, went off yet again this year. All on the heels of a clean King of Wake Series sweep – with Young Star Harley Clifford claiming the men’s crown and fellow Aussie Amber Wing grabbing the Women’s Title. Add the Junior Pro Tour Title secured by O’s up and coming young rider, Shota Tezuka of Japan, and it’s safe to say that Oakley’s team is poised to continue dominance today and shape the future of the sport tomorrow.
