Oakley Athletes Earn Podium Spots At St. Anthony's Triathlon

Oakley’s Greg Bennett and Craig Alexander placed second and third for the men, while Oakley’s Mirinda Carfrae and Jillian Petersen rounded out the podium for the women at the St. Anthony’s triathlon against a tough field of competitors. Americans Cameron Dye and Sarah Haskins earned early-season wins.

Oakley’s Greg Bennett was the fastest runner of the day, posting a 31:46 10km for second place at 1:49:04. Alexander proved his speed applies beyond the marathon distance, and ran his way to third for a time of 1:49:14. Although Dye only posted the seventh fastest run split of the day, his lead from a strong swim and bike time was enough to narrowly give him the victory at 1:48:44.

American Sarah Haskins found the lead position right away, exiting the water in first at 19:38 and then turned in a bike split of 1:00:47 to head into the run with a significant lead. Oakley’s Petersen and Carfrae started the run in second and third respectively. Carfrae found her way to second and looked for Haskins, but the 10 km run did not leave enough real estate to catch her. Haskins took the win in 1:58:49. Oakley’s Carfrae posted the fastest 10 km time of the women at 34:55 for second place at 2:00:20. Petersen held onto third at 2:00:35.
