Oakley’s Jenny Fletcher Places Second In Nautica South Beach Triathlon

Oakley’s Jenny Fletcher placed second in the 3rd annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon. Over 2,400 people competed on the shores of Miami Beach at the triathlon to raise money for pediatric cancer research.

Celebrities, athletes and locals helped raise over $175,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the Nautica South Beach Triathlon on Sunday.

After the race Fletcher expressed, “I am so thrilled with how this race went. The power I felt in all three events and the fitness level was a new high for me.”

The triathlon was divided into two races. The all-new International Distance Race kicked off with a 1.5k ocean swim, followed by a 40k bike over Miami Beach’s causeways, and concluded with a 10k run alongside Miami Beach’s famous Art Deco District.

At 7:30 a.m. participants in the Classic Distance Race hit the beach for a half-mile ocean swim, 19-mile bike and 4-mile out-and-back run.

Both races finished up on South Beach with hundreds of spectators cheering the triathletes toward the finish line.
