Oakley’s Greg Bennett and Craig Alexander placed second and third for the men, while Oakley’s Mirinda Carfrae and Jillian Petersen rounded out the podium for the women at the St. Anthony’s triathlon against a tough field of competitors. Americans Cameron Dye and Sarah Haskins earned early-season wins.
Oakley’s Jenny Fletcher placed second in the 3rd annual Nautica South Beach Triathlon. Over 2,400 people competed on the shores of Miami Beach at the triathlon to raise money for pediatric cancer research. Celebrities, athletes and locals helped raise over $175,000 for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital at the Nautica South Beach Triathlon on Sunday.
British triathlete Chrissie Wellington is the current and three-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion. Her debut to the sport, winning the 2007 Ironman less than a year after turning pro, which is a feat unheard of, shocked and amazed the triathlete world. Chrissie’s victory was described as the “biggest upset in Ironman Hawaii history.” With her third Ironman win, last October, Chrissie continues to inspire and even set a new course record of 8:54:02.
