Oakley’s Michael Weiss emerged from a field of nearly 2,000 and became the first Austrian man to win an Ironman title at the inaugural Ironman at St. George, Utah on Saturday. Oakley’s Caitlin Snow finished third in the women’s event.
Oakley’s reigning Asian champion Ryosuke Yamamoto, wearing radars, placed third Sunday in the ITU Triathlon World Cup Series in Ishigaki, Japan. Russian Valentin Meshcheryakov took wth win with a time of 1:54:02. Japan’s Yuichi Hosoda rounded out the podium.
Oakley’s Terenzo Bozzone of New Zealand and Samantha McGlone of Canada both used outstanding half marathons to pull off their victories at the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 in Galveston, Texas. Sunday’s race served as the Ironman 70.3 US Pro Championship and included a $75,000 professional prize purse with a $5,000 bonus for the first U.S. professional male and female finishers.
