Mirinda Carfrae


Mirinda Carfrae, aka Rinny, is a triathlete from Brisbane, Australia. Carfrae started sports at an early age, playing basketball and a variety of other school sports. In 2000, at the age of 19, she competed in her first triathlon. Even though she did not have a background in swimming, running, or biking, she experienced success in 2001 when she made the Australian Junior Elite Team. Carfrae then went on to represent Australia at the ITU Triathlon World Championships from 2001 through till 2005 earning silver medals in 2002 and 2003.     “Thrilling games. Harmonious Asia.“ Heck of a theme for the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games in China, where Oakley’s Yuichi Hosoda and Ryosuke Yamamoto served as the one-two punch in the event’s triathlon competition. The Japanese duo clinched the top two podium spots on the third day of the games.

    Well, its official Oakley is settled into our beautiful safehouse in Kona, Hawaii for Ironman 2010. The compound is one of a kind with a tennis court, pool, four small houses, lavish gardens and an ocean dock on the three acres that make up the grounds. Current Sports Marketing staff and former triathletes Greg Welch, Cuan Peterson and David Hyam have set up the house nicely with the help of Bryan Shelton from North American Marketing.

  • Oakley Takes Top Prize At Hy-Vee

    Oakley’s Tim Don of Great Britain, with a strong closing run, the Hy-Vee ITU Elite Cup Triathlon in Iowa, along with the sport’s largest winner’s check. Oakley’s Emma Snowsill took dominated the women’s event Sunday, winning in 1:59.35. Oakley’s Emma Moffatt finished second behind Snowsill. Oakley’s Kris Gemmell of New Zealand and Courtney Atkinson of Australia rounded out the men’s podium, taking second and third, respectively.
