Oakley’s Julie Dibens and Chrissie Wellington took first and second place respectively in the 5430 Sports Long Triathlon held in Boulder CO. Since Chrissie Wellington has won the Kona Ironman World Champions two times in a row and Julie Dibens has won the Xterra World Champions an equal amount of times, spectators witnessed a great and exciting bout.

Their times were just shy of 2 minutes apart with 4:10:58 for Julie and 4:12:18 for Chrissie, covering a 1.2 mile swim, 56 mile bike and 13.1 mile run. Coincidently, both ladies are British and train in Boulder.

The 5430 Sports Long Triathlon is part of a series of 3 triathlons held in Boulder every year with the start, finish and transition at Boulder Reservoir. The challenging Long Triathlon is preceded by the Sprint, consisting of a 1/2 mile swim, 17 mile bike and 3.1 mile run, and the Boulder Peak that is slightly longer metric event at 1.5K swim, 42K bike and 10K run.
