Oakley’s Bozzone and McGlone Victorious At Galveston 70.3
Oakley’s Terenzo Bozzone of New Zealand and Samantha McGlone of Canada both used outstanding half marathons to pull off their victories at the Memorial Hermann Ironman 70.3 in Galveston, Texas. Sunday’s race served as the Ironman 70.3 US Pro Championship and included a $75,000 professional prize purse with a $5,000 bonus for the first U.S. professional male and female finishers.

Oakley’s Cameron Brown claimed his ninth title, a world record, previously held by Paula Newby-Fraser in Kona (8 times), at the Bonita Ironman New Zealand. Oakley’s Terenzo Bozzone placed second. Oakley’s Jo Lawn gained the upper hand over rival Gina Crawford to reclaim the women’s title that she lost to the Christchurch triathlete last year in Taupo, setting a new course record in the process despite the windy conditions.
