    The snowboard world was hit with a Holiday’s miracle today. It’s been almost two years since Oakley Star Snowboarder Kevin Pearce strapped into a board. Displaying truly amazing resilience and hope after sustaining traumatic brain injury from a heavy accident while training for the Winter Olympic Games in Utah, the inspirational Oakley Team rider did what many said would never happen again. He dropped in.

    If it wasn’t the winning SuperPipe run at Winter X Games 15 that sent electric currents through the icy air, it was Kevin Pearce. Oakley’s recovering Snowboard Star, who sustained major injuries during an accident in December 2009 while training for the Winter Olympics, appeared at Winter X at the bottom of the Pipe – stoking cheers from the inspired snow fans in the crowd.

    We said it before…we’ll say it again: Kevin Pearce is a lucky guy. Following a horrific accident during an Olympic training run in Utah last December that threw him into a medically induced coma and inflicted traumatic brain injury, there were doubts about whether he’d ever be able to walk again. But in a courageous display of resilience and hope – touched with a bit of a miracle and family love – Kevin is rehabilitating and inching his way back to riding a board. He’s set to attend the Winter X Games in January as a spectator. But there’s more…he’s already doing kickflips on his skateboard.
