Resurrection: Track & Field Star Lolo Jones Claims Big U.S. Open and Russian Winter Meet Victories, Hurdles Toward London
Lolo Jones is no stranger to obstacles. Oakley’s Track & Field star, the heavy favorite in the 100 hurdles at the 2008 Olympics, has endured a tumultuous past year. But in a show of remarkable recovery, Lolo returned to the scene with an aura of dominance, claiming a resounding victory in the 50-meter hurdles with a 6.78 second finish over Tiffany Porter at the U.S. Open late January.
Oakley’s Summer Games bronze medalist Walter Dix edged out Tyson Gay in the former world champion’s hotly anticipated return to the 200 meters at the Prefontaine Classic Diamond League meeting on Saturday.
Oakley’s hometown favorite Lolo Jones won the 100-meter hurdles title at the USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships last weekend. Jones, who grew up in Des Moines, won her second outdoor national title in 12.69 seconds on an extremely hot Saturday afternoon in Iowa.
