Canada's Michelle Stilwell Finishes First and Second on the Track in London
While it wasn’t the result most people expected, Canada’s Michelle Stilwell was happy with a first and second place finish in London. Her fans likely expected the world record holder in the T52 100-meter and 200-meter races to finish first in both. “I don’t think you can be disappointed with any (medal from the Paralympic Games),” said Stilwell, who holds the world records in the 100m, 200m and 400m events. “I went out there and gave it everything I could and I’m ecstatic to come home with anything.”

47.63 Seconds – A Familiar Winning Time For 400m Hurdler Felix Sanchez
The Dominican Republic’s Felix Sanchez is beginning to enjoy the time of 47.63 seconds. Monday night in London, Sanchez completed the 400m-hurdle event in that exact time. On a chilly drizzly night on the track, Sanchez was the first man to cross the finish line, recapturing the title that he earned back in 2004 in Athens. The irony of it all – his winning time in Greece – you guessed it…47.63 seconds.

Fighting off pre-race jitters, a strange start in preliminaries and a rain delayed semi-final, Jones confirmed her spot on Team USA this summer in London where she will take on the best in the world in the 100-meter hurdles.
