Sam took up tennis at the age of eight after a friend gave her a tennis racquet for Christmas. She used to hit at the local courts with her brother, Daniel. He soon realised she had above-average ability and convinced their parents, Diane and Tony, to give Sam coaching lessons. She went away on her first overseas trip at the age of 13, competing in the World Youth Cup in Jakarta, Indonesia. At 14 she joined the Queensland Academy of Sport (QAS) under Geoff Masters and in 2001, when she was 16, Sam joined the Australian Institute of Sport tennis program.     The Bryan Brothers may not be unbeatable. But they’re pretty damn close. Oakley’s long-time star Tennis twins emerged with another victory at the Monte-Carlo Rolex Masters Tournament in Monaco, topping Juan Ignacio Chela and Bruno Soares, 6-3, 6-2. Hot on the heels of another clay victory in Houston last week (River Oaks Country Club), this win marked their 70th Team Title – with 18 coming at the ATP World Masters 1000 level. The dynamic duo is now tied for second on the all-time list with Todd Woolbridge.

    Janko Tipsarevic has been in fine form at the Sony Ericsson Open in Miami, FL. Sporting Oakley’s latest sports performance sunglass, the Fast Jacket, as he and doubles partner Olivire Marach toppled top seeded teams including Oakley teammates Bob and Mike Bryan en route to the Quarter Finals.
