“I Can Be No. 1.” O Tennis Star Sam Stosur Named Australia’s Top Tennis Player, Bags John Newcombe Medal
If you think Oakley Tennis Star Sam Stosur has been ‘flying under the radar’ in her rise to stardom…not for much longer. The amazing Aussie was presented with the inaugural John Newcombe Medal this past weekend – topping worldwide tennis superstars Llyeton Hewitt and Anastasia Rodionova as Australia’s premier player in 2010. The award was an enormous honor for Sam, who has been making enormous waves in the sport as of late.
Australian Sam Stosur played a little lose today, but the end result was as expected a cruiser into the 4th round with a 6-2, 6-3 win over Italy’s Sara Errani. This extends Stosur’s best-ever run at the US Open by pushing her into action this weekend.
Monday’s can be tough for everyone no matter what their profession, the cult classic “Office Space” had a great line that was used several times, that one might have a case of the Mundays, or issue with starting off their week. Well this did not hold true for the three top Oakley tennis players at this year’s US Open being on opening day in the sweltering late summer heat of NYC.
