    It’s been an admittedly tough stretch for Australia’s shining tennis star, Sam Stosur since she stunned the world in 2011, topping Serena Williams in the final of the US Open. Since her win in New York, Stosur had failed to secure another singles title, until Sunday. The 29-year-old entered the Southern California Open in Carlsbad as a wild card and fought her way to the event title, beating Victoria Azarenka 6-2 6-3 in Sunday’s final.

    Tennis fans have been spoiled as of late with a plethora of Grand Slam championships, combined with a special tournament last month in London.
