“A Ride For The Ages” - Oakley Launches One Icon Feature Visually Depicting The 100th Edition of the Tour de France

The French landscape is filled with mystique, beauty and wonder. From two monstrous mountain ranges (Alps and Pyrenees), to the turquoise coastline of the French Riviera, to the historic Champs-Élysées under the bright lights of the Eiffel Tower, the backdrop of the Tour de France is unrivaled. From the avid sports fan, to the casual observer, it is hard to compete against the stimulating imagery that comes out of the greatest race in cycling.

This year marks the 100th running of the Tour de France and to celebrate this milestone, Oakley has launched a new One Icon feature, entitled “A Ride For The Ages.” Utilizing a uniquely interactive platform, Oakley is bringing to the consumer the best visual imagery, coming out of every stage of the Tour, telling the story of that day’s race through the photos themselves. With the help of Oakley photographers on the ground in France and experienced cycling photographer, Tim de Waele, the One Icon feature compiles a daily gallery of photos, allowing the viewer to pick and choose which stage they’re interested in. Also included in “A Ride For The Ages,” is a compelling history of the 100th edition of the Tour de France along with a jersey profile, outlining who to watch in the race for the yellow, green, white and polka dot jerseys.
