Chris Froome is a professional road cyclist who rides for Britain’s Team Sky. Originally born in Nairobi, Kenya, where he garnished a love for mountain biking, Froome moved to South Africa as a teenager, where he began to pick up the sport of road cycling. He later went on to turn professional in his newly found passion of road cycling around 2007 and it’s been non-stop podiums since then. Froome rode his first professional season with South African Team Konica Minolta and bounced around during his early years. He rode in his first Tour de France in 2008 with Team Barloworld.     Oakley’s renowned sprinter is establishing his dominance this Tour in…well, sprinting. HTC-Highroad Star Mark Cavendish blazed to the 18th Tour de France stage victory of his career and the third of the 2011 race. The feat also powered him up to the lead of the points competition, slipping into the Green Jersey for his amazing performances thus far. The O Team speed demon was the fastest in stage eleven from Blaye-les-Mines to Lavaur, out-sprinting André Greipel and Tyler Farrar to tally his seventh victory of the 2011 season.

    They’re calling it ‘Tour de Crash.’ The first week of the prominent Tour de France has been more than insane – laced with dramatic crashes and intense action. From rider collisions with fans on the road, cyclists flying off into ditches to a media car clipping Juan Antonio Flecha and sending another rider into a barbed wire fence, this year’s race has been more than brutal. But one thing’s for certain…Oakley Cyclists are displaying their intentions to dominate. O’s Norwegian Star Thor Hushovd came out of the gates on fire – holding the coveted Yellow Jersey with the overall lead for a solid eight days. Stage nine saw him hand over the jersey on the slopes of the Massif Central. But up to that point, he did just enough to top the standings.
