First Wave: Star Cyclist Thor Hushovd Holds Tour de France Yellow Jersey For Eight Days, Oakley Claims Five Stages
They’re calling it ‘Tour de Crash.’ The first week of the prominent Tour de France has been more than insane – laced with dramatic crashes and intense action. From rider collisions with fans on the road, cyclists flying off into ditches to a media car clipping Juan Antonio Flecha and sending another rider into a barbed wire fence, this year’s race has been more than brutal. But one thing’s for certain…Oakley Cyclists are displaying their intentions to dominate. O’s Norwegian Star Thor Hushovd came out of the gates on fire – holding the coveted Yellow Jersey with the overall lead for a solid eight days. Stage nine saw him hand over the jersey on the slopes of the Massif Central. But up to that point, he did just enough to top the standings.

Tally Two: Oakley Cycling Star Mark Cavendish Claims Stage 7 Tour de France Victory, Six of Top Seven Riders Rocking O
Make that two for Mark Cavendish. Oakley’s Star HTC Highroad Cyclist blazed his way to his second Tour de France stage victory and his overall 17th win in Chateauroux – where he claimed his first-ever Tour stage in 2008. “It’s a special stage for me,” Mark said in his Oakley performance eyewear. “I won my first Tour stage here in Chateauroux and it’s very sentimental. It’s what I fell in love with.”
