Oakley’s renowned sprinter is establishing his dominance this Tour in…well, sprinting. HTC-Highroad Star Mark Cavendish blazed to the 18th Tour de France stage victory of his career and the third of the 2011 race. The feat also powered him up to the lead of the points competition, slipping into the Green Jersey for his amazing performances thus far. The O Team speed demon was the fastest in stage eleven from Blaye-les-Mines to Lavaur, out-sprinting André Greipel and Tyler Farrar to tally his seventh victory of the 2011 season.

Make that two for Mark Cavendish. Oakley’s Star HTC Highroad Cyclist blazed his way to his second Tour de France stage victory and his overall 17th win in Chateauroux – where he claimed his first-ever Tour stage in 2008. “It’s a special stage for me,” Mark said in his Oakley performance eyewear. “I won my first Tour stage here in Chateauroux and it’s very sentimental. It’s what I fell in love with.”

Stage 5: Oakley Cycling Star Mark Cavendish Claims Stage Victory at Tour de France, O Riders Dominate Top 10
Mark Cavendish just signaled his Tour de France arrival. Oakley’s star cyclist tallied his first stage win and his 16th overall career victory after slaying Stage 5 today in commanding fashion. Mark emerged from a hotly contested bunch sprint at the tail end of the stage – from Carhaix to Cap Frehel. “I’m just passionate about my sport, I love to win and the team gave it everything today to make sure I could get to the line first,” Mark said, rocking his Oakley performance eyewear. “There are a lot of difficult finishes this year and not so many bunch sprints, so I had to make sure I got this one, I had to be resilient.”
