Oakley athletes dominated The Tour of California, taking the overall victory and winning 4 out of 8 stages. The eight-day race covers over 800 miles of some of California’s most beautiful terrain, including through the redwoods, the wine country, along the Pacific Coast, and finishing in Thousand Oaks, CA. Most riders claimed it was one of the most physically demanding races that they have done. This year’s tour saw some of the best cyclists in the world competing including Tour de France winners, Olympic medalists and World Champions.
Oakley’s Mark Cavendish, who surged to the front in the waning meters of the 104.3-mile trip from Nevada City to Sacramento, with the help of his teammates, won the opening stage of the Tour of California on Sunday. Oakley’s Juan Jose Haedo of Argentina finished second, while Oakley’s Alexander Kristoff finished third.
