2010 Tour de France Stage 2 Recap: Chaos Continues...

stage_two

France’s Sylvain Chavanel from almost the starting gun broke away to win a rain-soaked second stage of the Tour de France in which most of the favorites crashed.

A series of crashes took place on the descent of the Stockeu climb, 30 km from the finish line and the younger Schleck brother (Andy) was amongst those most seriously hurt. The peloton with frayed nerves from the crashes, wet weather and slippery descents finally arrived at the finish en masse in a show of solidarity 3:56 behind Chavanel.
