Tour De France Week 2 Results
The 93rd edition of the Tour de France is two thirds of the way through its loop around France, but the race is still far, far from over. The top ten contenders in the current general classification are all within striking distance of the yellow jersey. With the remaining three tough mountain stages, two road stages and a long time trial still to come; there are some guaranteed surprises on the road ahead.
After two stages on the Pyrenees, Oscar Pereiro has taken control of the race, but with a very hard last week crossing the Alps it is probably too soon to declare a clear winner.
From the first day in Strasbourg until now we have had six different Oakley Leaders (Yellow Jersey) with Thor Hushovd, George Hincapie, Cyril Dessel, Floyd Landis and Oscar Pereiro. Robbie McEwen is proudly wearing the green Jersey of the Points classification after his 3 stage wins. This is a clear example of the quality of this years Oakley team.
Here is a break down on what has happened in this years Tour to date:
6 victories total:
1 for Thor Hushovd – Prologue
1 for TJimmy Casper – Stage one
3 for TRobbie McEwen – Stages 2,4,6
