As six-time Tour stage winner, as well as the points winner of the 2005 Tour, Hushovd has stood atop the Tour podium for either stage wins of points in ‘01, ‘02, ‘04, ‘06, ‘07 and ‘08. In 2007, Hoshovd won both the prologue and the final stage on the Champs Elysess, and spent two days in the yellow jersey. In 2009, he’s won at the Tour of California and the Omloop Het Nieusblad and has been on the podium at Milan-San Remo and Paris-Roubaix.

Thor (pronounced tour, like the race) is renowned for his sprinting and time trialing prowess and despite his Viking physique, can also hold his own with the best climbers.

Hailing from Grimstad, a small paradise on the south coast of Norway, Hushovd started racing at age 9, inspired by his older brother. He is the first Norwegian to wear the coveted Maillot Jaune.
