Bio

A five-time Olympian and fourteen-time Tour de France veteran, George Hincapie is one of only two riders in Tour de France history to have raced on eight Tour-winning teams. With numerous world championships, national championships and professional victories to his credit, George is one of the most recognized riders in the world.

Born in Queens, NY and now living in Greenville, SC, George has been hailed as “America’s premier classics rider” following his tremendous second-place finish at Paris-Roubaix in 2005, the highest placing for an American rider in history. He is also the only American to win the Gent-Wevelgem and Kuurne-Brussel-Kuurne classics.

Hincapie has won two stages at the Tour of California (2006), the overall and a stage at the Tour of Missouri (2007), and another stage win at the Dauphine Libere in 2008. He is a three-time US Professional Road Race champion (1998, 2006, 2009).

In 2010, Hincapie finished fourth at the 4th Gent Wevelgem.
