The 2009/2010 runner up has officially arrived. Oakley Star Cyclist Andy Schleck of Leopard Trek – edged out last year by defending Champ Alberto Contador for the Yellow Jersey – finally clinched a stage victory (18) after steadily stepping up over the course of the race. The 26-year-old phenom stepped up the attack in stunning fashion to triumph atop the Col du Galibier. Reminiscent of past battles with his primary rival, Andy broke clear with a charge on the Col d’Izoard – leaving Contador flailing in the peloton.
Team Leopard Trek is poised to take it to its rivals at Tour de France. And Andy Schleck is at the tip of the spear. Oakley’s Star Cyclist – the overall runner-up finisher at the 2010 Tour – is still one of the most formidable forces amongst the World’s best riders this year in France.
