Fun Fact: Andy climbed Alpe d’Huez for the first time…at the ripe old age of 12!
Andy Schleck was the runner-up in the 2010 Tour de France, finishing only 39 seconds behind Alberto Cantador and winning the Young Rider Classification for the third consecutive year. He is only the second rider in history to wear the white jersey three times. Andy also won two mountain stages and rode in the coveted yellow jersey for six days.
Andy’s biggest career victory came at the 2009 Liege-Bastogne-Liege, where he became the first winner of the race from Luxembourg in 65 years. Andy finished second at the Tour de France that same year, behind Contador and ahead of Oakley’s Lance Armstrong.
Andy and older brother Frank Schleck (also an Oakley rider) departed Team Saxo Bank at the end of 2010 to join a new Luxembourg team called Leopard Trek.
