The Oakley Pro Junior, part of the Lacanau Pro (the first European 6-star WQS event) hit Lacanau, France last weekend, bringing together 144 of the best young surfers in the world.

There were no waves on Friday, Day 1, but Oakley brought the entertainment to the beachside Banana Surf Shop Cafe a successful kick-off party.

On Saturday, the men’s final was played out between Oakley’s Romain Cloitre (REU) and Charly Martin (GUA), with Cloitre eventually winning the duel.

“I’m stoked with this win,” said Cloitre. “For me, winning at Lacanau is very special. The people have always welcomed me here and it’s my sponsors’ event.”

"I’ve got to stay concentrated for the next two events,” said Cloitre, who now takes a substantial lead in the ratings. “I can win this title but I’ve got to be 100% in all my heats."

The race for the title continues next week with the Rip Curl Pro Junior in Hossegor, France.
