Off The Hook Fishing Tournament

The inaugural Oakley Polarized Fishing Tournament set sail out of Dana Point in a quest of glory and the $1,000 prize for largest fish. Early clouds and rain threatened to ruin our day, but in the end it was nothing but calm seas and beautiful blue skies. Over one hundred of our closest Oakley friends, athletes, media, and accounts from San Diego to Santa Cruz made the journey.

Some of the top Oakley athletes consisted of “The Godfather” Mike Metzger, Ryan Sheckler, Ron Capps, Evan Geiselman and Amber Wing. All were stoked to be heading out for a day of fishing, drinking, socializing and bathing in the sun. Burgers were plentiful and beers overflowing in over six different coolers, needless to say everyone was smiling and enjoying the day within minutes of us setting sail.

After a full day of fishing and plenty of laughs, it was time for the weigh off. The lucky anglers who had netted themselves a keeper gathered to the stern of the boat. One by one they pulled the fish from their sacks and hooked them to the scale. Bill Sharp representing HSS, took the top prize with his Sheep head. Dingo reporting for Fuel TV hand over the prizes and Bill hoisted the oversized check and trophy to the heavens.

  1. Bill Sharp (Huntington Surf & Sport) – $1,000
  2. Chris Leasure (ET Surf Shop)- $500
  3. Jimmy Huh (Transworld Media) – $250
