Lowers Pro: Oakley Happy Hour Jazzes Surf Media Around ASP Prime Contest, Team Signature Series Pieces Highlighted
When the ASP drops into Lowers (Lower Trestles Beach in Southern California) every year for its prime contest, O Team Riders are always in the mix as the World’s best rippers collide at one of the most renowned breaks on the Planet.
This year was no different – with Oakley spicing up the scene even more with its own festivities off the beach.
The Surf Industry’s collection of media outlets converged on San Clemente for a funky O hosted Happy Hour event at Taka O Restaurant. And as expected, it went off.
With plenty of beer, wine and unearthly amounts of quality sushi in the rotation, the press and a collection of Oakley Surf Team chargers fully savored the vibrant atmosphere, chill overall vibe and great company in South Orange County.
Topped off with some raging sessions of Karaoke, of course.
Graced by the presence of Romaine Cloitre, Adam Melling, Sebastian “C-Bass” Zietz, Julian Wilson, Brent “Brenno” Dorrington, Tommy Whitaker, Eric Geiselman and more of O’s elite pros, the event also placed some of Oakley’s killer Surf Team Signature Series eyewear pieces in the spotlight for everyone’s viewing pleasure.
The Julian Wilson Signature Series Holbrook and the Jordy Smith Jupiter Squared pieces were center stage, while O’s super intriguing Heaven and Hell collection were also on display – capped off with a sneak peek of a new model set to release in October (you’ll have to wait for the name of this bad boy).
All in all, the evening was a full reflection of the Surf Industry’s overall vibe away from the bustling Nike Lowers Pro down the road…made possible, of course, by Oakley’s world-class surf family.
