Mr. Price Pro Ballito: Oakley Surf Team Drops In on Barrel Mania in South Africa, Jordy Smith Advances on Day 4

If a perfect 10 thrown down by Kolohe “Brother” Andino on the first day isn’t enough to demonstrate Oakley’s killer week at the Mr. Price Pro Ballito, a huge Day 4 victory by Jordy Smith will do the trick.

O’s native South African star dominated the round by topping Sean Holmes – a wildcard who toppled veterans Cory Lopez, Taj Burrow, Andy Irons and Kelly Slater at J-Bay and turned industry heads.

But it wasn’t an easy feat. Holmes brought the heat, throwing down a 6.5 and 7.5. Although Jordy raged back with powerful rides for a 6.5 and 7.5 (highest heat score of the day), he fully recognized the tough competition.

“Sean is really good on right point breaks, especially when it gets bigger,” said Jordy – the current World No. 5 – rocking his Oakley eyewear. “Anything over three feet and he’s lethal so it was a relief to get through that one.”

Overall, the South African contest has been going off with flawless barrels and some raging rights. And Oakley’s overall surf team has been in the spotlight with some killer performances and their overall presence.
