Rising Tide: Japan and Europe Amp Up For August Oakley Pro Junior Contests

The tides are rising in the land of the rising sun.

Oakley’s ever-vibrant Oakley Pro Junior Challenge is pumping its way across the globe from the Western Hemisphere to Asia and Europe. On the heels of a super spirited contest in Brazil – in early summer, OPJ has its eyes on Shidashita Point, Chiba, Japan for an Aug. 6-8 event, set to bring about some of the region’s most promising rippers.

The Challenge wastes no time, as it’s set to hop from the shores of Japan to the chilly waters of Hossegor, France on Aug. 13-16.

Despite possible low water temperatures and unique conditions, if the Brazil stop was any foreshadowing of things to come, the next two stops definitely won’t disappoint. The next two events are set to feature fierce, yet oh-so-chill, battles between up and coming young surfers that seek to accumulate enough points in their regional ratings to qualify for the ASP’s inaugural World Junior Tour (the first stop: Oakley Pro Junior in Bali!).

To get you pumped even more, check out these sick videos from the last two Oakley Pro Junior events in Brazil and Lowers (Trestles in Southern California).
