This years Oakley Junior Pro was kicked off with 92 of the best 20 year old and under junior surfers in the nation, battling it out for a $10,000 prize purse and points gaining them in a seed in the World Jr. Championships in Australia. While the waves on the other hand were not so inviting in the early rounds with cold winds and micro waves, surfers that had that edge and a little strategy were victorious.

Heading into the quarter finals with the conditions turning around and weather changes up to 10 degrees warmer and clean light offshore conditions, the competition started to get heated with stacked heats and hungry competitors. Nick Rozsa showing why he’s on the right team and takes out Wesley Desouza in the last seconds of his quarter heat, needing a 5.0, he comes up with a 5.5 to take the win and heads into the semi-finals and ending his campaign with a respected equal 3rd taking home some Benjamin’s and respect from the boys.
