Who’s next? That will be the question on everyone’s mind as October 6th – the start date for the Oakley World Pro Junior at Keramas in Bali, Indonesia – looms nearer. For the first time, the ASP World Junior Champions (man and woman) will be crowned in Bali. And as history has shown us, having that title on one’s competitive resume has often served as a springboard to success on surfing’s next level.
Leaving behind the beachbreaks of Ballito, Sebastian “Seabass” Zietz, Eric Geiselman, Adriano de Souza and crew head south to score perfect pointbreak waves at “Supertubes” at Jeffrey’s Bay. In-between freesurfs and competing in the 2012 Billabong Pro Jeffrey’s Bay, the boys venture off on a true African experience – mingling with zebras and lions at the Seaview Lion Park. The interactions become a bit too close and personal, but everyone escapes with all of their fingers and toes intact.
In the sixth episode of the Oakley Dispatch webisode series, Adam Melling, Tom Whitaker, Sebastian Zietz and friends travel to the beautiful beachbreaks of Ballito, in Duban, South Africa for the first part of Oakley Dispatch South Africa. The boys make the most of Ballito beach-front living, scoring fun waves right in front of the unit – busting airs and tucking into a few barrels. When the surf’s flat, the crew head down the road to score some non-stop barrels and get a bit goofy at the Gateway Wave House.
