Bio
Born in 1987, Erica Hosseini is a surfer and model from Newport Beach, CA. Hosseini began competing in the National Scholastic Surfing Association (NSSA) at age 13. She entered her first pro event in April 2002, the Foster’s Cup at Lower Trestles, where she eventually won 2nd place and became the youngest surfer (male or female) to make the final of an ASP pro event. In 2003, she won 5 NSSA titles – Southwest Open Conference, Explorer Conference, Regionals, NSSA National Open Women’s Title, and The Governor’s Cup. In 2004 she finished 2nd in the Nationals Open Women, 1st in OP Pro, and a 3rd place bronze medal in the ISA Jr. World Championship in Tahiti. In 2005 she won 1st place at the Volcom Championships, 1st at the U.S. Championships, and 4th at the Target Pro Jr.
But don’t she isn’t done yet. She’s charging into 2011 on Team Oakley – smashing into contests with fiercely beautiful style.

My family, my friends and my health. Surfing professionally requires a lot of travel and sometimes injuries, so having great people in your life and being healthy to enjoy it all is extremely important.

I’ve got my TV set up for streaming Netflix on one picture and the other a live web cast of whatever ASP event is on at that the moment. ☺ so…mellow tv on the couch 100%.

How do you see yourself? Are you rebellious? Quiet? Weird? Why?
Out of the three I am probably Quiet and Weird. I enjoy having rules, so rebellious doesn’t fit in the mix. I’m a very independent person and surfing is an individual sport. So I think I tend to be more quiet and reserved because I’m on my own program each day. All my friends think I’m weird though. They point out all these so-called “weird” corks about me that I think are perfectly normal. But everyone notices the same things so they must be right. I have a very geeky nerdy side that everyone finds really funny.

What are the things that inspire you?
Watching my friends and people around me succeed and accomplish their goals. It pushes me harder to reach my own and strive for what I want.

What are you passionate about and why?
I’m passionate about having a healthy lifestyle. No matter where I am in the world, as long as I’m feeding my body the right food and staying active, there really are no bad times. Ultimately I just want to be happy and have fun, and this plays a major role in my life. So I try and stay fit and eat as healthy as possible.

Favorite place to snowboard? Surf?:
- I learned to snowboard before I could surf. I spent my younger years growing up in South Lake Tahoe so my favorite mountain is Kirkwood. - My favorite surf spot is Lower, Trestles. How can you stray away from perfection? Especially when it’s only 45 min away from my house.

What is your greatest extravagance?
-I don’t have one great extravagance as I do many stupid small one’s. One of my most recent being that I bought Dance Dance Revolution on Amazon in the hopes that I would learn something. This is just one on a list with many, many more.
