That’s why it was more than a surprise to Kolohe “Brother” Andino when it was he and fellow American Tanner Gudauskas left in the final of the ASP World 6-Star SuperSurf Internacional in Sao Paulo, Brazil. Kolohe emerged victorious with his 14.33 heat-wave total, earning him a massive 3,500 points in the World Ranking. “I’m so stoked,” Kolohe said, sporting his Oakley Frogskin eyewear. “I thought that I could reach the Quarterfinals here, but I never imagined that I would win the event! Unfortunately, conditions today (Saturday) made things really difficult and I think I was lucky to have caught some good waves. In the Final, I started off well and then I just used my strategy to hold on for the win since there weren’t too many good waves.”
