NSSA National Amateur Surfing Championships

The biggest amateur surfing event of the year blows up once again with hungry competitors putting it all on the line. Lower Trestles did its part and produced solid swells for yet another memorable contest with mind blowing display of talent.

To start the action in the early rounds of the Explorer divisions, Head-to-Toe Oakley athlete Eric Geislman posted two perfect 10’s and a 9.5 throw away score with combo’s which involved huge carving hacks and backed it up with big frontside airs giving him a flawless heat score. Evan Geislman and Kolohe "Brother" Andino posted 10-point rides of their own through the event like it’s in their sleep. Oakley athletes dominated the week as we had 15 National Finalist and 2 National Championship titles taken by Kolohe Andino in the Open Mini Grom Division and Dane Ward in the High School Men’s Division.

Oakley’s dedication to the future of surfing and loyalty to the sport was definitely known through the five exciting days of competition. These pictures are a glimpse of the action and presence that Oakley had at this year’s Championships, clearly making a statement truly what Oakley’s about. I would also like to thank everyone that came down and supported, Robert "The Grill Master" Rohmann, Dino for all the support and coaching to the groms, Jason Sakamoto, Russ Hennings, Brad, Ronnie, and all that made it go off!!
